Culturally Appropriate Health, Aged, Community & Social Care
It’s essential that organisations & individuals providing care to people from culturally & linguistically diverse backgrounds recognise and respond to their challenges & needs.
Loneliness, like every other word in the dictionary, has a definition but more than most it is a feeling, a lived experience. Loneliness is far more than a set of words on a page or screen. Loneliness can be experienced by anybody, anywhere or at any time. You can be in a room full of people yet still feel lonely. The reality of loneliness should only be defined by the person experiencing it.
In responding to this topic, I thought I would provide five great resources to inform, support and assist people experiencing loneliness which is becoming distressing for them or people who are living with or supporting people in this situation. These are not meant to be a ‘cure-all’ or in any way, diminish the challenges that may be faced. But they may serve as a starting point, a catalyst, circuit breaker, provide ideas, create movement, detail support services.
